藝術家鄭源的作品《遊戲》以圖像媒介的演變,電子遊戲的歷史以及虛擬實境對日常生活的滲透為主題而展開。從體育賽事的電視轉播到第一人稱射擊類遊戲,從類比信號到數碼圖元,通過對不同類型影像的挪用、並置與蒙太奇,圍繞思考著世界是如何被技術再現的?再現的世界又是如何重構我們觀看與思考方式的?

視覺做為人體經驗最強勢的媒介,在作品中,鄭源以真實或虛擬攝像鏡頭的視線做為切入的角度,自觀看的多重角度、人稱位置、觀看路徑等所構成的敘述,探討了從中作用的媒介話語建構。

Artist Zheng Yuan’s artwork, Game, takes the evolution of image medium, the history of computer game, and the infiltration of virtual reality in daily life as themes to deploy. From the TV broadcast of sports events to the first-person shooter game and from analogue signals to digital image unit, through appropriation, juxtaposition, and montage of different types of images, it ponders over the questions of how the world is reproduced by technology and how the reproduced world reconstructs our ways of watching and thinking.

Vision is the most dominating medium in the human bodily experience. In the work, Zheng Yuan takes the perspectives of real and fictional cameras, and discuss the intermediate medium discourse construct from the narratives formed by multiple angles of watching, points of view, and lines of sight.
